VK Yacht AB, Sweden

Designer and Builder of Aluminum Yachts

Thank you for visiting our web site.
My name is Vassilis Kostoulas and I am the technical director for VK Yacht.
My qualifications are : Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from NTU of Athens (1985) and Master of Science in Industrial Robotics from Cranfield Institute of Technology (1988).
My involvement with the marine industry started at the end of 80's and continued for the next two decades working with restorations and new designs of traditional boats, classic racers, motor yachts, cruisers and sailing yachts in wood, steel, aluminum and composite (early projects).
Very soon I developed my personal hull design method which I have used in all new designs. In parallel I worked with the improvement and optimisation of hull construction.

No matter that I like the nostalgic beauty of wooden boats, the easiness and low budget of steel construction and the lightness of carbonfiber, I consider aluminum to be the best choice for boatbuilding. This led me to the establishment of VK Yacht AB in 2010 as a designer and builder company for aluminum yachts.

VK Yacht has invested in the building of a prototype, the VK35 Aluminum Performance Sailing Yacht, to demonstrate the success of our design and the quality of our construction.
This yacht example, make us confident to claim, that, as VK Yacht, we can design and build quality aluminum yachts that offer :

  • Form beauty

  • Construction quality

  • Light and strong structure

  • Speed

  • Sea keeping and worthiness

  • Functionality

  • Comfort

  • Safety

  • Attention to the detail

  • High value for money

VK35 is the first member of a series of yachts that VK Yacht has designed to offer exciting sailing performance in all conditions from a sailing competition, sailing holidays or sailing around the world, even single-handed.
